About Core Equipment

Core Equipment Ltd is one of the UK’s leading companies in the sales and distribution of Craft Drinks equipment to the beer, cider, spirits, wine and juice markets. The company has recently enjoyed a period of dramatic growth and is now seeking to recruit additional people for a variety of positions throughout the company, from sales and marketing through to engineering and support. We are now looking for an experienced Project Engineering Manager for the brewery market, to work alongside the sales and service functions, helping the team to deliver excellent customer service and support.

The Role

Pre-Sales Support:

Working hand-in-hand with the sales team from the initial enquiry, your role will be to understand the customer’s technical requirements, ensuring that the sales proposal is the most suitable and deliverable solution for the customer.

Key tasks:

  • Helping the sales team with technical queries relating to the brewery market in particular and other market sectors in a supporting capacity
  • Providing a technical perspective on sales
  • Assist customers and design teams to select and design the best equipment for the job.
  • Advising on suitability of equipment and services for specific processes
  • Providing pre-sales input including technical drawings and specifications

Project Management:

As the Project Engineering Manager, you will be by the customer’s side throughout the process and manage both their expectations and their change requests ensuring everything is running smoothly in the background.

Key tasks:

  • Establishing and understanding the scope of any given project
  • Produce a project plan for each project, ensuring that it is maintained and up to date as well as communicating the plan with customers and suppliers
  • Interpret the customer’s requirements to suppliers.
  • Be the after sales point of contact for the customer and for relevant suppliers.
  • Liaise with the company between internal teams to plan and inform installation work
  • Liaise with external contractors, e.g. lifting and moving.
  • Working with Service onsite during commissioning
  • Delivering projects in a timely, cost efficient fashion to the expected standards

Key Skills and Experience:

  • You must have significant hands-on experience of running a brewery or a large brewing function
  • Have had experience in specifying, procuring, project managed and been responsible for the implementation of a significant capital purchase for a brewery.
  • Have experience in managing multiple technical projects through to successful completion, working with key stakeholders.
  • Possess a good general level of computer literacy and be capable of working with the company’s CAD, project management and general office software.
  • Have good communication skills and will be comfortable communicating with customers and suppliers at all levels.
  • Comfortable in attending industry functions and events from beer festivals, networking dinners, to exhibitions and trade talks.
  • Willing to undertake a level of foreign travel (when restrictions permit) from visiting suppliers and customers across Europe and beyond to undertake pre delivery inspections and site visits.
  • You will be a good team player, keen to work with other members of our close-knit and hard working staff.

Qualifications:

  • You should have achieved an engineering or technical qualification, preferably to degree level
  • In addition, you should ideally hold an industry-related qualification, but for the right candidate these is not strictly necessary
  • Full and valid UK driving licence with less than 6 points
  • A project management qualification would be useful
